Guardian privacy notice

Template for schools using Ascendia LMS. Your school should adapt it and have it reviewed by its own legal adviser. It is not legal advice.

What the school keeps

Your child's admission number, name, gender, class, date of birth (if provided), your name and phone number, and your child's scores and report sheets. The school does not store photographs or national identity numbers in this system.

Why

To run classes, record results, produce report sheets and contact you about your child's education.

Who can see it

School administrators see everything the school holds. Teachers see names, classes and scores but not guardian contact details. Ascendia Core Ltd provides the software and processes the data on the school's behalf; Ascendia staff do not browse school records, and Ascendia's monitoring tools receive only totals (for example, the number of students).

Your rights

You may ask the school for a copy of your child's data, ask for corrections, or ask for the record to be erased. The school can export or erase a single student's record from its workspace.

Security

Data is protected by encrypted connections, hashed passwords, role-based access and separation between schools.
